Upcoming: The James Joyce working group is pleased to announce a lecture by Berkeley English doctoral candidate Chris Eagle: "'Our Day at Triv and Quad': John Ruskin and the Liberal Arts in Finnegans Wake." Wednesday, April 30 at 5:00 p.m. in 155 Barrows Hall, followed by reading and discussion in 330 Wheeler Hall.

The James Joyce Working Group meets weekly for lively reading, discussion and exegesis of Joyce's final opus Finnegans Wake. The group also hosts colloquia and lectures on Joyce during the academic year. Our members are a diverse group from the UC-Berkeley and the surrounding community, with new members always welcome; nothing is required but a copy of the Wake and your curiosity. Meetings for the spring 2008 semester take place Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00, in 306 Wheeler Hall. [Map]

We are sponsored by the Townsend Center for the Humanities. For more information about the group or this website, please contact Sarah Townsend or Paul Kerschen.
